Project Space is a program of hard working individuals that commit their time, effort and knowledge to help create awareness and advocates for the students of the Arecibo Remote Command Center and the Center for Advanced Radio Astronomy in the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Project Space raises funds to help with summer programs, summer internships,  travel funds and other expenses that the students may incur in the educational pursuit.

The program was first known as the Friends of ARCC, then Friends of CARA and has finally morphed into Project Space. The students whom inspired the program  have now moved on to become professionals in their fields, either pursuing Ph.D positions or working in the scientific community. The list of students desiring to conduct space exploration grows as the awareness spreads.

Project Space is a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization.
