Coming together from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, our skilled team of professionals is the backbone of Project Space. Their ideas and passion impact many of the students passionate about space exploration in our community.
Board of Directors
Marvie Garcia currently serves as Vice President in the Commercial Lending team with Lone Star National Bank.
Bertha Garza is an established leader in the Brownsville community with more than 48 years of experience in banking. During her tenure, she supervised all marketing efforts for 12 IBC Bank branches in Cameron County, and was responsible for coordinating donation requests, along with the completion of public relations campaigns, event planning and representing IBC Bank-Brownsville in the community.
Noemi X. Salas
Noemi has extensive experience and expertise in the financial services industry. Her full time jo is at IBC Investments Services and LPL Financial. Before that Noemi served as "Financial Consultant" with The Principal Financial Group®. In this position, she managed portfolios consisting of investments, annuities, disability and life insurance products for more than 14,000 clients.
Keeisi Caballero acquired her Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2016. In 2019, she obtained her Master of Business Administration from the same university where she is also currently pursuing her last semester for her Master of Science in Physics. Keeisi has worked as a team leader for the Arecibo Remote Command Center for over 5 years while pursuing her degrees. As part of her training, Keeisi has undertaken internships at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Houston Technology Center. Keeisi is passionate about creating more opportunities for minority students to pursue STEM careers in the Rio Grande Valley.
The fundraising committee helps organize events such as graduation ceremonies and our signature program, STARGATE Talks. Our ultimate goal is to raise money for students seeking to becoming scientists in the Rio Grande Valley.
