Patricia C. Hynes, Ph.D
Professor Emerita, New Mexico State University
Dr. Patricia Hynes is the Director of FAA Center of Excellence for Commercial Space Transportation in New Mexico. She is the founder and Curator of the International Symposium for Personal Spaceflight (ISPCS.com). It is now in its 15th year and is a leading international commercial space conference. She works on space related research and education across the State of New Mexico.
She was the Director of the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium (NMSGC) and NASA EPSCoR statewide programs from 1998 to 2018. These programs are headquartered at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Through their Student Launch Program, she sent 67 experiments to space from Spaceport America.
She is also the State Director for the FAA Center of Excellence for Commercial Space Transportation. Spaceports is her field of research with the FAA AST.
She was the Director of the Center for Aerospace Science, Technology and Education (CASTE) which was established early in the state’s efforts to create a focal point for research and education related to inland spaceport development.
Pat Hynes is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Ph.D in Business Administration, a Masters in Higher Education Management and a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
